Children’s Health and UT Southwestern Medical Centre have received a significant grant of over $100 million from the Moody Foundation to support the development of a $5 billion paediatric campus in Dallas. Although the exact amount was not disclosed, it is the largest commitment to date for the project and will result in the hospital being named after the foundation.

This latest grant brings the total contribution from the Moody Foundation to over $400 million, marking the third nine-figure gift towards the paediatric campus project. The funds will support the construction of Moody Children’s Hospital, expected to be completed by 2031. The hospital will serve as a hub for innovation, research, training, and the advancement of life-saving technologies
The need for expanded pediatric care in the Dallas region is pressing, with the pediatric population expected to double by 2050. UT Southwestern Medical Center president Daniel K. Podolsky expressed gratitude for the Moody Foundation’s investment, stating, “The Moody Foundation’s transformative investment in the well-being of future generations of children and youth marks a pivotal moment in our ability to reshape pediatric care across Texas, train the next generation of carers and accelerate vital discoveries that will continuously enhance our capacity to heal.”
Podolsky further emphasised the lasting impact of the foundation’s commitment, saying, “The foundation’s commitment to advancing our new paediatric campus will have a lasting and meaningful impact on the patients and families we are privileged to serve.” The Moody Children’s Hospital is poised to make a significant difference in the lives of children and families in Texas, providing world-class paediatric care and driving innovation in the field.
