Comfort Sunday, the daughter of 58-year-old Titilayo Avoseh, who was brutally killed in front of her house, has shared the heartbreaking details of her mother’s tragic death during an interview with The Punch correspondent. Titilayo Avoseh worked as a hairstylist in Lekki.

Comfort explained that the tragic incident occurred while she was at work, and she received a call around 9 p.m. informing her that her mother was lying motionless on the floor and no one could touch her. The caller was unsure of what to do and asked for her whereabouts, to which Comfort instructed them to try to help her mother, even if it meant taking her to the hospital, as she was already on her way.

Comfort said she left Lekki around 9 p.m. and headed to Ishashi in Ojo. While on the way, she called her sister and asked her to start coming home, explaining the situation. Her sister arrived home before her, as Comfort was already close to their street.

Comfort then recalled, “Before I got home, my sister called me and said that my mother had already died. She said the people who killed her broke her head in front of our house. I quickly ran back. I cried and ran to a police station not far from where I was.”

She said when she arrived at the station, she was met by a large crowd, as people from their community had already gathered to report the same incident. They then went with the police to their house, where Comfort found her mother’s body lying on the floor, already lifeless.
