A mother has publicly expressed her support following an event in which her daughter was required to apologize before a whole congregation for becoming pregnant outside of marriage.

A pregnant member of the True Vine Apostolic Church of Christ was called to the front of the church by Pastor Bishop Terry W. Jackson on Sunday, January 5, and she was asked to apologise for becoming pregnant before marriage.

The young lady apologised, and the pastor told her that the church does not support immoral behaviour. He also told her that there would be no baby shower because there was nothing to celebrate.

The video of this incident has caused a great deal of indignation, with viewers wondering why the man who caused the pregnancy was not held accountable and why he was not publicly shamed in the same way.

Additionally, some others pushed the young woman to seek a another church community to escape such embarrassment. The girl’s mother responded by reaffirming her unshakeable support for the pastor’s conduct on Facebook.

She wrote:“To everyone that’s concerned, we greatly appreciate it. However, I do want you to know that you all are interrupting my peace and is causing more damage than good.

“You are showing up disrupting my church, my beliefs, and disrespecting my pastor. I am where I want to be and where I chose to be.

“We were not forced or manipulated to stand before the congregation. My daughter willingly approached the congregation and was welcomed and embraced with open arms.

“I stand on what I’ve been taught, and I’m raising my daughter to do the same.

“I stand with my Pastor!”
