Betta Edu: Northern group to hold mass protests in Kaduna,

Dr. Betta Edu, the suspended minister of poverty alleviation and humanitarian affairs, has shown up at the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) headquarters to face questions on her alleged involvement in a N585 million fraud.

President Bola Tinubu suspended Edu on Monday, as the ZINGTIE remembers.

The humanitarian fund was allegedly sent into the minister’s personal bank account.

Grants to vulnerable populations in the Akwa Ibom, Lagos, Cross River, and Ogun states were intended to be paid out with the N585 million.

Following the swearing-in of members of the Federal Executive Council (FEC) in August of last year, Edu is the first minister to be suspended from office.
