NACA, ACCI Empowers Vulnerable Youths with Digital Skills Program

The National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA) has partnered with the Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) to launch a five-day digital empowerment program for young people, including adolescents living with HIV. The program aims to equip 40 participants with digital skills for personal growth, entrepreneurship, and health advocacy.

NACA Director General, Dr. Temitope Ilori, emphasized the importance of digital skills for vulnerable youth, stating, “This initiative from NACA is expected to equip young people with digital skills that will enable them to access remote job opportunities, become entrepreneurs, and advocate for their rights effectively.”

The training program includes lessons in video storytelling, platform management, campaign design, and entrepreneurship. Participants will develop group projects to demonstrate their learning, with the best ideas potentially receiving further support.

Dr. Ilori urged to be change agents and digital media influencers, promoting health and HIV-related issues. “We need you all to be change agents, and the next generation of digital media influencers that will be positive role models in society,” she said.

The program is designed to meet participants’ practical needs, providing them with essential tools for survival, expression, and economic inclusion. With post-training mentorship available, participants will have ongoing support to help them achieve their goals.

This initiative is a testament to NACA and ACCI’s shared commitment to building the digital capacity of young people and empowering them to become positive influencers in their communities.
