According to Senator Sunday Karimi, who represents Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, recent events in the Senate involving Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, have validated former Governor Yahaya Bello.

As a significant figure in the National Assembly, Senator Karimi pointed out that he could confidently assert that the previous governor could not have been held accountable for the things Akpoti-Uduaghan accused him of doing in the state before the National Assembly elections.

In response to the confrontation between Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Senator Akpoti-Udaughan, the Kogi West senator told reporters in Lokoja, “former Governor Yahaya Bello must have seen it coming.”

“Other Kogi lawmakers and I played major roles in ensuring that the State was not brought to ridicule, but no amount of reasoning could prevail. Our intervention was rebuffed,” he said.

Before, during, and after the State’s National Assembly elections, the Kogi Central Senator and the former governor engaged in a number of ongoing conflicts, he recalled, adding that current events had only served to validate the former governor, Bello.

He claims that the current Senate situation is a complete mess and a disgrace to the entire state.

He lamented the fact that the state and the country as a whole might still be subjected to the unnecessary embarrassment despite earnest pleas and counsel that, he claimed, were ignored.

“All our admonition to her fell on deaf ears. One can therefore come to terms with the fact that former Governor Yahaya Bello saw it coming.

“Senator Natasha has not only rubbished the perception of the state, from the events happening now in Nigeria, she has also embarrassed the entire country,” he stated.
