According to Professor Chidi Odinkalu, the former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission, the purported plot involving former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello and Senate President Godswill Akpabio has reached an impasse.

In a tweet on his X handle, Odinkalu asserted that Bello and Akpabio now consider Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan to be a major issue.

Despite a current government ban on rallies and processions, supporters in Kogi State gave Akpoti-Uduaghan a resounding welcome on Tuesday, prompting the declaration.

In Ihima, Okehi LGA, supporters from Kogi Central’s five local government areas gathered early to greet the beleaguered PDP lawmaker.

Odinkalu responded to the large turnout for the Kogi senator by saying that Akpoti-Uduaghan won the election without using electoral fraud.

He said: “In Kogi State, the criminal conspiracy of @Senator_Akpabio & @OfficialGYBKogi has run into an irrepressible problem. The name of that problem is @NatashaAkpoti. This woman won an election without rigging, something that neither Akpabio nor Yahaya Bello can do. You see!”
