“I commend our panellists for their dedication and impartiality in raising the bar. This has ensured that only the most qualified candidates got selected,” Dr Ogbuku said. He also urged the beneficiaries to maintain a high level of integrity and avoid any conduct that could bring disrepute to the country. “I urge the beneficiaries to steer clear of criminal activities or any conduct that can bring disrepute to the country,” he emphasised.
The selection process was rigorous and transparent, with over 30,000 candidates applying for the scholarship scheme. Only about 6,000 candidates qualified through the computer-based test stage, and the final 200 beneficiaries were selected after a thorough oral interview. The NDDC’s commitment to empowering the youth of the Niger Delta region is evident in this initiative, which aims to provide opportunities for higher education and personal development.
The award ceremony marks a significant milestone in the lives of the beneficiaries, who are expected to make a positive impact in their communities and contribute to the development of the Niger Delta region. The NDDC’s scholarship programme is a testament to the organization’s commitment to promoting education and empowering the youth in the region
