This Tuesday, US musician Onika Maraj-Petty, better known by her stage name Nicki Minaj, will highlight Islamist brutality against Christians in Nigeria at a UN event in New York.

Michael Waltz, the US ambassador to the UN, and Alex Bruesewit, the convener and counselor to President Donald Trump, would accompany the hip-hop artist.

Eric Cortellessa, senior political correspondent for Time, revealed this late on Sunday via X.

Michael Waltz, the US envoy to the UN, confirmed the news and called Nicki Minaj “not only arguably the greatest female recording artist, but also a principled individual who refuses to remain silent in the face of injustice.”

He added, “I’m grateful she’s leveraging her massive platform to spotlight the atrocities against Christians in Nigeria.”

Reacting to ambassador Waltz’s post, Minaj said: “I am grateful to be entrusted with an opportunity of this magnitude. I do not take it for granted. It means more than you know.”

She emphasized that she will never back down in the face of injustice and added that God’s influence serves a greater purpose.

Donald Trump, the president of the United States, recently declared that Nigeria is a “Country of Particular Concern,” claimed that there is a Christian genocide occurring there, and urged lawmakers to act right away.

Nicki Minaj quickly praised Trump for denouncing the murders of Christians in Nigeria.

The Nigerian administration refuted allegations of religious violence in the nation, claiming that there is no religious basis for the country’s instability.

The US has continued to be interested in the matter despite the Nigerian government’s denial.

The United States’ most recent attempt to address the alleged persecution of Christians in Nigeria is the planned UN event featuring Nicki Minaj.
