Governor Umar Bago of Niger State has extended his condolences to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, following the passing of his mother, Mama Lydia Yilwatda.
In a message of sympathy delivered through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, Governor Bago described Mama Lydia’s passing as a significant loss to the APC family nationwide.
He noted that her departure occurred at a time when her spiritual support and wise guidance—especially to her son in his current leadership role were most needed.
The governor, however, urged Prof. Yilwatda to see her passing as part of God’s divine will—something beyond human control or questioning.
He further encouraged the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that Mama Lydia led a virtuous and faithful Christian life, which was evident in the way she raised her children, particularly the APC Chairman.
He advised Professor Yilwatda and other members of the family to find strength in the values and legacy she left behind.
“I sincerely share in your moment of grief; be comforted by the good and impactful life she lived, ” Bago stated
The governor concluded by offering prayers for Mama Lydia’s soul to rest in peace and for God to grant strength and comfort to all those mourning her loss.
