Nigeria Customs Service Posts 12.6% Revenue Growth in Q1 2025

The Nigeria Customs Service, Tincan Island Command, has reported a revenue collection of N347bn in the first quarter of 2025, marking a significant increase from the same period in 2024. According to Customs Area Controller Frank Onyeka, the command collected N116bn in January, representing a 24% increase from N88bn collected during the same period in 2024. In February, N103bn was collected, showing a 2.9% increase from N100bn collected in February 2024.

“The command collected the sum of N128bn in March, and this shows a 10.3 per cent increase when compared with N115bn collected in the same period in 2024. The total amount collected for the first quarter of 2025 is N347.9bn, which is 12.6 per cent higher than the N304bn collected in the same period in 2024,” he said

Onyeka urged all stakeholders to engage in more honest declarations so that a seamless operational environment may exist and all sides may benefit from a much better conducive ecosystem.

He also appreciated the support of the customs management, promising to continue with stakeholders’ engagement “in every way possible so that there can be more all-round improvement in all aspects of their operations.” This development is expected to boost revenue generation and enhance trade facilitation in the country.
