The Nigerian Army has reiterated its commitment to addressing the housing difficulties that personnel of the 6 Division are facing.

During the inauguration of three projects at the division’s headquarters in Port Harcourt on Thursday, Maj. Gen. Jamal Abdussalam, the division’s General Officer Commanding (GOC), made this announcement.

The improvements include a 150 meter access road, a symbolic python monument, and a six unit structure for transit accommodations for officers.

Abdussalam underlined that giving employees more housing options will greatly improve their ability to carry out their jobs effectively and efficiently.

According to him, the newly built block of six independent apartments will provide officers with temporary housing and is meant to alleviate housing concerns within the barracks.

He also noted that there is a lot of undeveloped area at the 6 Division headquarters that might be used for future growth.

“The barracks possesses substantial undeveloped areas that require attention for further development,” he stated.
