According to NAPS President Eshiofune Oghayan, the donation aims to facilitate the safe return of trafficked Nigerian children from the Ivory Coast and support the rehabilitation of other victims of human trafficking. “The leadership of the National Association of Polytechnic Students, on behalf of the entire Nigerian polytechnic community, extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Ratel Movement for their magnanimous and timely intervention in the fight against human trafficking,” Oghayan said.

“We particularly commend the kind-hearted gesture of donating the sum of 20 million naira to NAPTIP through the MVOI. This generous donation is aimed at the safe return of trafficked Nigerian children from the Ivory Coast and the rehabilitation of other victims of human trafficking. This is not just a donation—it is a statement of commitment to the future of our children, especially the vulnerable girl child.

NAPS also commended the Ratel Movement for championing advocacy for the Nigeria Immigration Service aimed at prioritising border security and protecting citizens’ dignity. “Your advocacy calling on the Nigeria Immigration Service to rise beyond routine duties and ensure the actual protection of our borders, especially in safeguarding the dignity of our citizens, is a bold and commendable move,” Oghayan added.

The association urged relevant authorities to take urgent action to address the plight of Nigerians in the diaspora, particularly in Libya, Somalia, and Morocco. “We join our voices with yours in urging the relevant authorities to intensify border security efforts, ensuring that the lives and future of our youth are prioritised over materials labelled as contraband.”

Oghayan expressed gratitude for VeryDarkMan’s gesture, saying, “We pray that Almighty God continues to bless him with sound health, divine wisdom, and greater capacity to continue championing justice, humanity, and youth development.
