According to Simon Ekpa, the self-declared prime minister of the Biafran Republic in exile, the Nigerian government formally wrote to former US President Donald Trump, requesting that he disassociate himself from his continued liberation agitation.
Epka asserts that in an effort to weaken Trump’s cause, the government “advertised” his activism to the previous president in addition to attempting to disassociate him from his movement.
The activist declared his defiance, saying he would not let the government’s actions stop him from fighting for Nigerians’ rights and freedoms.
This incident demonstrates the increasing global interest in Epka’s campaign and the efforts made by the Nigerian government to reduce outside backing for his movement.
