According to Senator Williams, “Many students face serious financial challenges that can derail their dreams. This support is to ensure they focus on their studies, pass the bar finals in one sitting, and return to serve their people.” He increased the grant amount from N200,000 to N250,000 per student, considering the rising cost of living.

Williams urged the beneficiaries to be studious and prayerful, emphasising that their success would benefit not only themselves but also the larger community. “If you graduate and start practising, don’t forget your people and your constituency. I believe one day, you’ll come back to help others,” he added.

Each beneficiary received a grant of N250,000 to assist with tuition and living expenses during the mandatory one-year professional legal training. Williams also hinted at a broader local scholarship program for postgraduates, which would soon commence.

Tasen Arthur Egbe, a law graduate from the University of Calabar, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, described the grant as “a miracle”. “This gesture shows that we have a senator who truly believes in empowering the youth and promoting educational advancement,” he said, commending Williams for facilitating local and foreign scholarships for students in the senatorial district.
