Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu about a potential crisis if urgent attention is not given to the concerns of Nigerian youths.

The cleric disclosed that there are growing signs of a significant youth-led protest in response to the ongoing hardships experienced under the current administration.

In a statement released through his spokesperson, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele noted that the government has so far made limited progress in addressing youth-related issues. He emphasized the need for immediate efforts in job creation and youth empowerment, stressing that these steps must be taken before 2026 to ensure the stability of the administration.

He further advised President Tinubu to make effective use of the youth minister as a channel to engage young Nigerians across the country and help prevent unrest.

“The youths are planning a surge against Tinubu’s government, they want to protest against the economy, election, and some other things frustrating them. I want the president to make a strong move on the youth matter so it won’t cause his government problems.”

“Create empowerment and employment for the youth before May 2026. This isn’t part of the things that will make you win, but you must do to stabilize your government.

“The youths will go on a rampage. Don’t take the youths for granted. You should not enable youths for thuggery, but for the betterment of the country, create jobs for them, empower the best students in tertiary institutions, and do more for them.

“You have a very talented youth minister who listens to advice and knows how to get to the youth. Utilize him adequately for this purpose.”

The prophet urged the president to avoid concentrating only on the influential youths often referred to as the ‘Big Boys,’ since they are not the ones who vote.

He clarified that his focus is not on empowering youths in affluent areas like Lekki, Ikoyi, or the Island, as these groups are already well-known, but rather on those at the grassroots level who may not be prominent figures.

He added that reaching out to youths across various states and involving them in the administration’s reform efforts would be beneficial; otherwise, neglecting them could be used to the president’s disadvantage.

“Don’t take the youths for granted, and we are not talking about ‘Big Boys’ youths, those ones don’t vote. We are not talking about Lekki, Ikoyi, Island youths, I mean youths from the grassroots, they don’t have to be famous, we are not talking about internet youths

“You should go to different states and places to empower youths, carry them along in your reforms; otherwise, it will be used against you,” he stated.
