As efforts to challenge President Bola Tinubu’s leadership in 2027 gather steam, associates of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar have claimed that more Nigerians are rallying behind the emerging coalition.
Speaking with Vanguard on Sunday, Atiku’s media adviser, Paul Ibe, stated that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is already becoming uneasy over the unity being forged among major opposition leaders.
Ibe expressed confidence in the coalition’s strength, describing it as a powerful force capable of dislodging the current government in the next general election.
“They’re scared because they know the coalition represents a formidable platform that could remove this administration.
Even if some leaders defect to their political party, the reality is that Nigerians are defecting to the coalition. It embodies their aspiration, a platform to end this failed government,” he said.
He added that once all formal agreements are sealed, the movement will experience a major wave of public support.
“That will mark their defection, far more overwhelming than what’s happening with the APC,” Ibe stated.
