Nigerians have been given new hope for increased power supply this Christmas season.
This comes after an update on the ongoing repairs being carried out by the Nigerian Gas Processing and Transportation Company (NGPTC).
Following a temporary power outage, the majority of the country has remained in darkness for a few days.
However, in a Wednesday night statement from the Nigeria National Grid on X, authorities guaranteed citizens that energy will be restored soon.
“This restoration will enable gas-fired power plants to resume normal operations, leading to improved electricity supply across the country,” the update read in part.
For many years, Nigerians have had adequate electricity supply to celebrate the holidays, despite fuel constraint.
However, a major shift in market forces has resulted in lower petrol costs, ensuring its availability this year.
