According to Dr Igiehon, the country’s incessant grid collapse is due to obsolete facilities that need to be replaced with modern technology. He assured residents that his firm has the capacity to provide power solutions to several communities without electricity, following its huge investment in infrastructure and key technologies.
Dr. Igiehon highlighted the technologies driving the economy of Edo State, including power generation, transmission, and distribution technologies, as well as digital metering and advanced payment systems. He said, “Today, we have shown you our second plant, the IPP2, which is really the focus of expansion going forward. We have shown you our gas supply infrastructure. We have shown you our IPP1, which was commissioned in April 2020. And we have also shown you our transmission line.”
He added that the Ossiomo Power plant network now covers over 200km around Benin metropolis, providing power to government establishments, commercial customers, and communities. Dr. Igiehon recalled that before Ossiomo Power’s intervention, the host community of Ologbo was without power for six years. He emphasized that access to affordable power supply is now available to Nigerians on the Ossiomo Power network
