For Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), Nigerian President Bola Tinubu has traveled to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the president of the United Arab Emirates, is said to have invited Tinubu to travel to the Middle East.

In a post on his X page on Sunday, Dada Olusegun, the President’s Special Assistant on Social Media, confirmed Tinubu’s arrival.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrives in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, where he is received by Sheikh Shakhboot Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, UAE,” Olusegun wrote.

Tinubu left the country’s capital, Abuja, to travel to the United Arab Emirates for the 2025 Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW), as previously reported.

The summit, with the theme “The Nexus of Next: Supercharging Sustainable Progress,” is set to take place in Abu Dhabi from January 12 to 18.

In order to promote socioeconomic advancement and sustainable development, the event will bring together world leaders.

It is anticipated that the president would give a speech in Abu Dhabi outlining the major reforms of his government, with a focus on public health, energy efficiency, transportation, and economic development.

In order to improve bilateral ties and look into potential diplomatic and commercial alliances, Tinubu and his delegation are anticipated to speak with UAE leadership during the visit.

The event intends to provide a venue for representatives of civil society, business executives, and policymakers to exchange ideas on how to promote global prosperity while making the shift to a sustainable economy.

The president is accompanied by Femi Gbajabiamila, the chief of staff to the president, Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, the minister of foreign affairs, and Abdullahi Ganduje, the chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
