Crown FC head coach, Ayodeji Ayeni, has called on his squad to recover quickly from their opening-day loss at the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super 8.

The Ajilete Warriors were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Kun Khalifat FC on Saturday at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba.

Despite the result, Ayeni insists the team remains focused on their ultimate goal of securing promotion.

“As you can see, it is a marathon. It’s not yet over for any team,” Ayeni reacted after the game.

“Our first match doesn’t determine the league and ambition. We can go ahead and win the next two matches.”

Crown FC are set to face Osun United in their second group-stage encounter on Monday.
