NNPC Retail Limited has dismissed a fuel attendant and suspended a station manager over an alleged attempt to cheat a customer at one of its service stations located in Ikorodu, Lagos.
In a statement released on Friday, the company revealed it became aware of the situation after a video capturing the misconduct of the fuel attendant circulated widely on social media.
Following an internal investigation, the company confirmed the dismissal of the attendant involved.
According to the statement, “The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Retail Limited wishes to state clearly that such conduct is completely unacceptable and runs contrary to our values of integrity, transparency, and premium customer service.”
In line with its disciplinary procedures, NNPC Retail implemented the following actions:
- The fuel attendant’s employment was terminated.
- The station manager was placed on suspension.
- A formal warning was issued to the dealer overseeing the station.
The company also expressed appreciation to the public for staying alert and encouraged customers to report any similar cases through the official contact channels provided at all NNPC stations for swift response.
