The Peoples Democratic Party’s national convention has been defended by Debo Ologunagba, the party’s national publicity secretary.
He said that in spite of complaints from FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and his followers, the procedure adhered to the PDP’s constitution and principles.
In response to inquiries during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday, Ologunagba made this statement.
“We’re guided by our rules, and we’re guided by law. More importantly, we’re guided by the guidelines of the party,” he said.
The party’s organs have already taken their conclusions, the spokesperson added.
In response to allegations that the process left out stakeholders, Ologunagba clarified that everyone, including those claiming to be NEC, had a right to notice of that meeting.
Therefore, Ologunagba denied that Wike’s demands might cause the convention to fail.
“Again, that would be completely untrue. I don’t like to use the word lies, or dancing to the gallery,” he added.
