Okezie Ikpeazu, the former governor of Abia State, has urged the PDP’s members to remain steadfast and committed to the party, emphasizing that loyalty is the highest sacrifice expected of members.

Ikpeazu, who hosted a meeting of a select group of PDP leaders from Abia South zone in his hometown of Umuobiakwa, said that if the PDP is united, it will be unbeatable.

He also urged party leaders in the zone to hold regular meetings at all levels to strengthen the party structures in the zone, State, and the country at large, while urging them to ignore those who he referred to as “noise makers and naysayers.”

“Loyalty to the party is the ultimate sacrifice we owe to ourselves and to the people we serve. Once we remain united, no external force can defeat us.”

The former governor bemoaned that some people chose to blame him for everything that went wrong in their lives rather than acknowledging his accomplishments when he was in control of the state.

“If somebody’s pot of soup sours, they will blame Okezie Ikpeazu as being responsible for it”, he said.

Enyinnaya Appolos, the PDP Vice Chairman for Abia South, stated in his remarks that the meeting gave the party leaders in the area a chance to share ideas and get a briefing from the former governor, who he claimed was still the PDP’s state leader.

In order for the PDP to continue to be the dominant party in Abia, Appolos urged the leaders of the Abia South PDP to demonstrate dedication and collaborate with one another.
