“Veteran Nollywood actor, Nkem Owoh, best known as Osuofia, celebrated his 70th birthday on Friday and took to social media to express his gratitude for reaching this milestone.

On his Instagram page (@osuofia_nkemowoh), Owoh shared: “Chi efogo, and it is my 70th birthday. What else can I say? To God be all the glory. Special thanks to you all for being part of this journey. I love you all.”

Numerous Nollywood stars and entertainment personalities flooded the comments with birthday wishes:

A Nollywood Legacy

Born on February 7, 1955, Nkem Owoh has enjoyed a remarkable career as an actor, comedian, and singer.

He won the Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA) for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2008 for his role in Stronger than Pain.

In 2017, Owoh received the AMAA Lifetime Achievement Award, solidifying his legacy in the Nollywood industry.

His distinctive comedic style and unforgettable roles, particularly in the iconic film Osuofia in London, have made him a beloved figure in African cinema.”
