Daniel Bwala, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Advisor on Policy Communication, claims that Tinubu’s style of governing is acceptable to the North.
This runs counter to the assertion made by former SGF Babachir Lawal, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, that the North was prepared to remove President Bola Tinubu from office in 2027.
Recall that Babachir had recently accused President Tinubu of neglecting the North, saying that the president was cutting the region off from current government initiatives in the country.
Prior to the 2027 election, he had stated that a number of influential northern politicians had established a forum to discuss regional issues and their plans for the upcoming election.
However, Bwala denied Babachir’s assertion on Channels Television on Wednesday, stating that the North “is extremely comfortable” with Tinubu’s administration.
“Northern Nigeria is extremely comfortable with the governance approach of Mr President, do you know why? he is solving the problems that are in the long time and the problems in the moment. You can see conscious efforts by the president through various policy,” he said.
The presidential adviser responded that things were already improving when asked if the administration takes into account Nigerians’ grievances about their plight.
He says that the agenda crafted by opposition leaders and the clamor of Nigerians are distinct.
Bwala went on to say that the performance and outcomes of President Tinubu’s administration were torturing opposition parties.
