Dr. Kayode Fayemi, the former governor of Ekiti State, has denied rumors that he defected from the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The former governor reiterated his loyalty to the ruling party in a post on his X handle on Monday, saying that his political affiliation has not changed.

He went on to say that he was still a “card-carrying foundation member” of the party.

Fayemi expressed hope that the APC might still “change course and move towards greater inclusivity” while restating his demand for increased internal democracy and inclusion within the party.

“As I have previously stated, I am a card-carrying foundation member of the APC, and this position has not changed.

“While I have been at the forefront of advocating for greater internal democracy and inclusion within our party, I believe it is still not too late for the APC to change course and embrace these values,” he said.
