The National Open University of Nigeria Alumni Association (NOUNAA) has launched it’s 2025 scholarship campaign, offering N50,000 tuition grants to prospective students nationwide.

According to Ifeanyi Obukwelu, President of NOUNAA, the campaign aims to bridge financial gaps and eliminate entry barriers, ultimately contributing to building a knowledgeable, skilled, and inclusive Nigeria.

At a news conference in Abuja, Mr. Obukwelu revealed that the scholarship programme is fully sponsored by alumni donations, reflecting NOUNAA’s commitment to giving back to society. “Our alumni once stood where prospective students stand today; they are now rewriting the narrative for the next generation,” he said.

The scholarship is open to all applicants, with a primary focus on underserved communities. Mr. Obukwelu emphasised that the campaign serves as advocacy for NOUN’s credibility, aiming to enhance the visibility and public acceptance of the institution. “This initiative aims to bridge the knowledge gap by awarding scholarships,” he added
