Daniel Amokachi has resigned from his role as head coach of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) team, Lobi Stars.

The former Super Eagles forward stepped down after Lobi Stars’ 1-1 home draw with Katsina United last weekend.

Amokachi leaves the Makurdi-based team at the bottom of the standings.

He took over as head coach in the first half of the season after the dismissal of Eugene Agagbe.

Assistant coach Tar Akombo will be in charge for Wednesday’s matchday 25 encounter against Shooting Stars.

The club’s management is expected to name a new head coach next week.
