Shooting Stars’ technical adviser, Gbenga Ogunbote, has reaffirmed his team’s determination to continue pushing for a continental ticket, despite their recent struggles.
The Ibadan-based club suffered a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo on Sunday, marking their seventh consecutive winless match in the league. Following the defeat, the Oluyole Warriors dropped to sixth place on the league table.
However, Ogunbote remains optimistic and insists that his team will not give up on their goal of securing a continental spot.
“We have nine matches to decide that. We have gone seven games without a win; it could be any other team. So when we pick up, maybe some other team will fizzle out. We will give it a fight until the end,” Ogunbote told the club’s media.
Shooting Stars will next face Remo Stars in the South West derby on Saturday.
