Ogun State police officers have detained Yemisi Ogunlana, a 28-year-old lady, on suspicion of severing her husband’s manhood after a fight.

In the Oko-Oba neighbourhood of Ogijo, Yemisi reportedly cut 31-year-old Idowu Adebowale with a sharp object.

Omolola Odutola, the command spokeswoman, sent news reporters with a statement on Monday that included this information.

The statement claims that at approximately 5:15 p.m., the spouse reported the event to the command’s Ogijo Division.

After being arrested, the suspect rejected the accusations when questioned, according to the publicist.

Odutola said, “He reported an attempted murder case on Monday at about 5:15 p.m.

“A 31-year-old man named Idowu Adebowale, from the Oko-Oba area of Ogijo, came to the police station and stated that on October 15 at 4:30 a.m., his wife, 28-year-old Ogunlana Yemisi, used a sharp object to severely injure his manhood during a minor disagreement.

“He showed the officers the injury, revealing a significant cut near the tip of his penis.

“But given the severity of the injury and the length of time the complainant had not sought medical help, he was provided with a medical form and advised to go to the hospital,” she said.

Odutola stated that the matter will be forwarded to the SCID in Abeokuta for additional investigation, and that the suspect is presently in jail.

She also said that unchecked anger, which resulted in marital violence, was the likely cause of the incident.
