Osun Election: Sowore reacts after Davido’s unexpected meeting with Wike

Popular Nigerian activist, Omoyele Sowore, has criticised Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, following the musician’s recent meeting with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike.

ZINGTIE reports that Davido and his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, visited Wike at his Abuja residence on Thursday.

A 16-second video circulating on social media showed Davido engaging Wike in a light conversation about the outcome of the Osun State governorship election held on Saturday.

The meeting has since attracted reactions, particularly from Sowore, who questioned the singer’s decision to associate with the FCT minister following the election.

Reacting to the development, Sowore described the individuals involved as political hustlers and questioned why Davido was “genuflecting before Nyesom Wike” despite reports of killings involving Osun residents during the election period.

In a post shared on his X handle, Sowore criticised the singer over the encounter and raised questions about the political implications of the meeting.
