Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, the senator who represents Osun East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, has resigned from the PDP.

This information was revealed by Senator Fadahunsi in a resignation letter dated June 12, 2025, which he personally signed.

The letter was delivered to Ward 4’s Ward Party Chairman in Osun State’s Obokun local government area.

In the letter, Senator Fadahunsi said that he had resigned from the PDP because of the party’s long-running legal disputes and irreversible, irreconcilable disagreements that plagued it nationally following the general elections in 2023.

He went on to say that he engaged with his family, friends, and political connections before making his decision.

The letter reads, “I wish to formally notify you that I am resigning my Membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with immediate effect, due to the irreparable, irreconcilable differences and protracted legal battles that have bedeviled the party at the National level after the 2023 general elections.

“This was concluded after consultation and engagement with my political associates, family and friends.

“It is my wish that you accept my resignation in good faith.

“Thank you for your understanding.”

In a conversation with ZINGTIE on Saturday, an Ilesa PDP stalwart who wished to remain anonymous disclosed that the plot had been in the works for a while.

Despite pressure to stay, the stalwart said, Senator Fadahunsi had long lost interest in the PDP and was itching to depart.
