Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai’s assertions that the Social Democratic Party’s (SDP) Kaduna State institutions have crumbled and been merged into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition have been refuted by the SDP’s Kaduna State Chapter.
In a statement, Adamu Idris, the party’s chairman in the state, called El-Rufai’s remark “spurious and false,” stating that the SDP is still in place and committed to reestablishing itself as a legitimate opposition.
The party emphasized that peace and stability have since been restored after El-Rufai’s departure, noting that his brief tenure in the SDP was characterized by internal strife and disruption.
“Our structures are robust and alive across Kaduna State. We are committed to promoting the true interests of Nigerians and will not be distracted by El-Rufai’s attempts to sow division,” he said.
It attacked the former governor, calling him a self-serving desperado, a non-democrat, an unrepentant bigot, and the embodiment of tyranny.
ZINGTIE recalls that during a strategic conference he led over the weekend, El-Rufai and a few opposition leaders declared that the entire SDP structure in Kaduna had been dissolved into the ADC.
