Click to Follow us The Osun State High Court in Ilesa ordered the State Independent Electoral Commission, or OSSIEC, to hold elections for the empty positions of local government chairman and councillors in all 30 local government areas and area offices on Saturday. Justice A. Aderigbigbe, who delivered the decision, declared that there is vacancy in the state’s 30 local government districts, as established by the Federal High Court’s decision. This order followed a suit filed in court by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), one of the major parties participating in the election.
