Following reports that Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo’s life was in danger for speaking out against the killing of Christians in Northern Nigeria, Major General E.F. Oyinlola, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Nigerian Army’s 3rd Division in Jos, Plateau State, and Commander of the Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP), promised him the highest level of protection.

During a visit to the clergyman’s church in Jos, Major General Oyinlola was seen speaking directly to him in a Voice TV footage starting 2:42. The GOC’s visit followed reports that Rev. Dachomo had been targeted for assassination by some parties due to his vocal denunciation of attacks on Christian communities.

Oyinlola guaranteed the pastor of both military and divine protection while praising his bravery in front of the audience.

“Pastor, I heard you say that you are ready to die, put your life. I want to assure you that nobody can kill you until God says it’s time for you to come home,” he said.

Worshippers applauded his comments, which went viral on social media and sparked discussions about the need to defend voices opposing injustice and acts of religious violence.

Rev. Dachomo has frequently urged authorities to protect vulnerable communities from recurrent attacks. He is well-known for his audacious condemnation of insecurity and his support for peace in Plateau State.

The Nigerian Army is still totally committed to protecting all citizens, regardless of their faith, and maintaining peace in the North-Central region, Major General Oyinlola reaffirmed. He underlined that no citizen should be afraid to tell the truth or demand justice under his leadership.
