Panic swept through Ikire, a community in Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State, on Sunday after the convoy of renowned Fuji musician, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, came under attack.

The incident reportedly occurred in the afternoon, when a group of suspected thugs targeted the convoy, hurling stones and firing gunshots at the vehicles. Among those attacked were a black Hummer Jeep and a white Hilux truck, both of which were visibly damaged, according to eyewitnesses.

It has not been confirmed whether any member of Pasuma’s entourage sustained injuries during the assault.

A video that quickly circulated online captured the chaotic aftermath. Screams can be heard in the background, with one person exclaiming in Pidgin English, “Kasala don burst for Ikire. They don attack us. They carry gun shoot us but God dey.” (Quoted text retained as required.)

Attempts by journalists to contact Pasuma or his management team for a response had not yielded results at the time of reporting.

The incident left many locals in shock, briefly disrupting normal activities in the area and causing fear among residents, shop owners, and commuters.

Although it is believed that Pasuma was in Osun for a performance, details surrounding his visit have yet to be verified.

As of now, the Osun State Police Command has not issued an official statement on the matter, nor confirmed if any arrests have been made in connection with the attack.
