Dan Orbih, the vice chairman of the re-elected Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-South Zonal, has stated that the party’s current issue is self-inflicted.
Orbih pointed out that certain members had ignored the party’s constitution in favor of their own interests.
The Zonal Vice Chairman, who spoke at the PDP’s South-South Zonal Congress in Calabar on Saturday, asked party members to make the sacrifices required to revitalize and fortify the party.
He urged that officers who would enforce the party’s constitution in the area be elected, emphasizing that they must likewise be fearful of God.
“We must follow the party’s guidelines if we are to revive it. These guidelines are subject to the Constitution. The power to elect new officers of the party is not subject to anything but the constitution.
“We must start rebuilding the party from here. The party cannot dictate who an individual should associate with, nor determine their friends or enemies,” he said.
