The faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Taminu Turaki has directed its legal team to promptly submit an appeal to the Supreme Court regarding the judgment issued on Monday by the Court of Appeal in Abuja.

The decisions of the Federal High Court in Abuja, which previously annulled the party’s national convention held in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025, were upheld by the Court of Appeal.

In his ruling, Judge Uchechukwu Onyemenam determined that the Turaki-led faction breached constitutional provisions necessary for a valid convention to take place.

In a statement from its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the faction reacted by saying the “battle is not over yet.”

“The operationalisation of this judgement will, without fail, work untold hardship on our members .

“To avert this, while we are consulting with critical organs of our party on the way forward, we have also instructed our lawyers to immediately take legal steps to appeal the same to the Supreme Court-being the apex court in the land; to conclusively adjudicate on this matter.

“We are hopeful that the apex court will expeditiously settle this matter in the interest of democracy”, the statement read.

It further asked its members to stand “firm, trusting that soon this battle will be over and we shall be more than conquerors.”
