Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has reacted to the ongoing leadership crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Fayose cautioned members of the party’s leadership to brace themselves, saying that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, would not hesitate to challenge them for provoking what he referred to as the Minister’s “wahala.”

In a video currently trending on Facebook, the former governor remarked that Wike’s “wahala” was only beginning.

He said: “I know Wike very well, if you have wahala with him, you will run or you find a way to settle it with him, otherwise he will give you double of whatever you bargain for.

“If you look for Wike’s wahala, it’s no retreat no surrender. Once he starts, whatever your eyes see just take it like that.

“If you look for one pound wahala, he will give you that of 20 Pounds; if you look for wahala of N20 he will give you that of N500 that even you yourself, you won’t have peace.

“You see this PDP wahala, as far as Wike is concerned, this is just the beginning, he will fight them. I know Wike, his Wahala is just starting.”

The internal conflict intensified over the weekend, leading to a division within the former ruling party.

The crisis was triggered after Justice James Omotosho of the Abuja Federal High Court issued an order preventing the PDP from holding its planned national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, later this month.

In response to the ruling, the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) suspended four national officers — National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, Legal Adviser Kamaldeen Ajibade, Deputy Legal Adviser Okechukwu Osuoha, and National Organizing Secretary Umaru Bature — for one month.

However, a faction of the PDP loyal to Anyanwu countered the decision by suspending the party’s acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, and appointing Mohammed Abdulrahman as his replacement.
