Chijioke Uruakpa, the Abia State House of Assembly representative for Ugwunagbo, left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the Labour Party (LP).
While being welcomed by Governor Alex Otti on Sunday, Uruakpa, whose local government area has historically been a PDP bastion, declared his conversion to LP.
During the visit, the legislator was joined by over eight traditional leaders and other supporters from his constituency.
The Chief Press Secretary informed Governor Alex Otti about Uruakpa’s defection in a succinct statement on Sunday night.
ZINGTIE was informed in confidence by a source inside the state’s PDP lawmaker’s camp that his principle might also join LP before the middle of June.
