Adnan Mukhtar Tudunwada, a former candidate for the Kano House of Assembly in the general elections of 2023, stated that Muhammad Kadade, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Youth leader, has not adequately represented and organized the party’s youth section.
In a statement to reporters on Wednesday, Mukhtar attacked Kadade for what he said was a lack of dedication to his position.
He claimed that the party’s youth head had not given young Nigerians’ interests top priority.
In a conversation with ZINGTIE, however, the young leader denied the allegation, stating that no matter how hard a leader works, he will always face criticism from the public.
Mukhtar said, “The Youth Leader is a crucial member of the party’s National Working Committee because he represents all young members of the party. But have you ever seen him holding meetings with youth groups other than posing for pictures with VIPs?” Mukhtar queried.
He was disappointed that Kadade had allegedly ignored appeals from several party young leaders to arrange a mobilization trip for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the party’s presidential candidate, during the general elections in 2023.
“Even though I have access to him, the Youth Leader has failed to listen to almost everybody who tries to call him to order,” Mukhtar lamented.
“Look at what is happening in the country; the SDP issues, the hardships, everything. yet he has chosen to remain silent because of Nyesom Wike, who is an enemy of the party, working tirelessly for President Tinubu to destroy the opposition.”
The PDP’s youth wing has been undermined, according to Mukhtar, who also claimed that Kadade’s commitment is more to Wike than to the party.
“We heard it from a reliable source that he is not loyal to the party but to an individual, Nyesom Wike, who is doing everything possible to destroy our great party,” he said.
“I’m calling on the young man, it’s not too late. He should start doing the right thing, as the youth wing of the party is very weak, courtesy of his lackadaisical attitude toward young people.”
Regardless of party membership, the former candidate, who also works as a public relations professional and university instructor, asked young Nigerians to band together and support initiatives meant to alleviate the country’s problems.
“Our youth must come together out of patriotism and support any cause that can salvage this country,” Mukhtar concluded.
Muhammad Kadade Suleiman, the PDP National Youth Leader, responded to these critiques by defending his performance and claiming that people outside of leadership roles frequently misunderstand the difficulties required.
“Those who are not in positions do not know how it is. They think that if they were the ones, they would perfectly do better,” Kadade said.
He also emphasized his work during the election season of 2023.
“In 2023, I did a lot of activities, and there’s no way if I’m not doing well that the leaders would allow me to continue, because there is accountability.”
Regardless of their efforts, leaders are frequently criticized, Kadade admitted.
“A leader is always at fault, and people will always talk. If Adnan thinks leadership is easy, he would have clinched the position as an aspirant of the Kano Assembly in the 2023 general elections,” he said.
