Pericoma is not my biological father – Speed Darlington reveals

Darlington Okoye, alias Speed Darlington, has disclosed that the late traditional music icon, Damian Azubike Nwankwo Okoye, also known as Pericoma, was not his actual father.

Darlington said on a recent episode of The Honest Bunch podcast that his mother, singer Queen Achakpo, had him before her marriage to Pericoma.

He did, however, assert that he grew up in Pericoma’s home and that the music icon treated him as well as his other sons.

“Pericoma is my stepfather. I grew up in his house. I was on the cover of one of his albums along with my two half-brothers. I was very young when I went to his house; I was probably nine,” he said.

Speed Darlington went on to say that the late music icon was exceedingly accommodating, despite superstitious rumors that painted him as evil.
