Former presidential candidate Peter Obi can only expect to become president in 2031, according to Daniel Bwala, President Bola Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Policy Communication.
Bwala revealed this while pointing out that Obi is unable to run for vice president in 2027.
Bwala stated during an appearance on Politics Today on Channels Television that Obi could only serve as the campaign’s director general in 2027.
He said: “Peter Obi is not even going to be Vice Presidential candidate. He is going to be DG of the campaign with the hopes that he will be President in 2031.”
Obi is currently a member of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.
Obi announced yesterday that he would like to run for president in 2027.
Obi finished third in the 2023 presidential election, behind eventual victor President Bola Tinubu and previous contender Atiku Abubakar.
