Each beneficiary will receive N100,000, aimed at empowering small and medium-sized enterprises, the backbone of the economy. Represented by Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Frank Archibong, Governor Eno emphasised the importance of monitoring the grant’s utilisation.

“This is Arise Agenda at work in the local government; this government is desirous of seeing more of this project in the landscape of every local government area in Akwa Ibom,” Archibong said. “The project reflects a collective vision for progress and determination to complement the transformative ARISE AGENDA, championed by the administration.”

Eket Local Government Chairman, Akaniyene Tommey, highlighted the event’s significance, stating, “It is not merely an infrastructure and economic empowerment celebration but tangible evidence of unwavering commitment to people’s growth and prosperity.” The Conference Hall will serve as a premier hub for events, conferences, and social gatherings, driving internally generated revenue and creating employment opportunities.

Tommey added, “It will be a key driver of our Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and will also create numerous employment opportunities in the area.” The proposed ultramodern Eket legislative complex will further enhance infrastructural development in the area.

Beneficiary Deborah Willie expressed gratitude, promising to utilise the grant judiciously to grow her business. The event culminated in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Ultramodern Eket legislative complex
