Kaleida Health and Oishei’s Children’s Hospital in Buffalo, New York, have received a remarkable $50 million gift from Tom Golisano to support advanced, specialised paediatric care. This generous donation will enhance the hospital’s equipment and technology, as well as bolster programmes and services that are not typically reimbursed.

As a token of gratitude, the hospital will be renamed the Golisano Children’s Hospital of Buffalo in January 2026, marking the fourth children’s hospital to bear his name. Golisano, founder of Paychex and former owner of the Buffalo Sabres and Buffalo Bandits, expressed his pride in investing in the health of Buffalo’s children.

“I consider Buffalo, New York, part of my hometown community and am proud to make this investment in the health of its children,” Golisano said. “This support is about ensuring that every child, no matter their circumstances, has access to the highest quality care close to home.”

Golisano also praised the hospital’s staff, saying, “The doctors, nurses, and staff here are what make that care possible, and I’m honoured to support their work as we look ahead to all that the Golisano Children’s Hospital of Buffalo will accomplish for generations to come.”

This substantial gift follows a $10 million donation from the John R. Oishei Foundation, which led to the hospital’s new facility opening in November 2018. The Oishei Foundation has agreed to relinquish its naming rights in recognition of Golisano’s generous contribution.
