The Kano State Police Command has arrested eleven students from Government Boarding Secondary School in Bichi in connection with the alleged murder of two classmates.

According to reports, Hamza Tofawa and Umar Dungurawa were attacked and killed by their classmates using “Gwale-Gwale,” which are sharp native metal artifacts.

Ali Makoda, the Kano State Commissioner of Education, ordered a thorough investigation into the facts surrounding the tragedy after the students’ murder sparked worldwide outcry.

Abdullahi Haruna, the command spokeswoman, clarified that the 11 students who were arrested are presently being questioned.

Haruna added that an investigation is underway to determine the extent of the students’ involvement in the killings, and that they were arrested in connection with the incident.

The spokesperson stated that all individuals involved in the deaths will face legal action and that the police would make every effort to determine the facts behind them.

Abbas Abdullahi, the director of the Kano State Senior Secondary School Management Board, voiced his alarm and urged pupils to exercise self-control so that the murderers might be caught.

He assured students that the state administration was committed to investigating the matter and asked them not to abuse their advantages and enforce the law on their own.

The Kano State Government has pledged to do all in its power to find the incident’s true cause.
