The Niger State Police Command has taken into custody three men suspected of involvement in an armed robbery, during which a Toyota Camry was forcefully taken from a local resident.
The alleged robbers Umar Mukhtar (25), Shu’aibu Ahmed (30), and Mohammed Ibrahim Abba (25)—are believed to have committed the act in the Bosso Estate area of Minna.
Authorities reported that the group, led by a man identified only as Mustapha, who remains on the run, initially demanded cash from their target. When the victim failed to provide any, they proceeded to seize his wife’s Toyota Camry (registration number KNT 785 SN) using threats.
The police quickly responded and were able to recover the stolen car.
While being questioned, the suspects admitted to the robbery and disclosed that they had used a toy firearm and screwdrivers to carry out the act.
SP Wasiu Abiodun, the police spokesperson, confirmed the details and stated that efforts to capture Mustapha are still ongoing.
The suspects remain in custody as the investigation continues.
