Anambra State Police Command has arrested two individuals reportedly engaged in the kidnap and murder of a female bank manager after collecting a ransom of N14 million in Onitsha.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects, Monday Egbe, 32, and Kenneth Nnoga, 28, were apprehended on May 28, 2025, after rigorous investigations led agents to their hiding in a neighbouring state.
When the kidnappers had retrieved the ransom from her family, the victim’s lifeless body was discovered near Nnobi Road on January 13, 2025, with her eyes bound.
In order to learn more about the criminal gang’s tactics and potentially apprehend additional members, the suspects are presently being questioned.
The command will continue to safeguard people and property, investigate crimes, and make sure justice is done, according to assurances from Commissioner of Police CP Ikioye Orutugu.
The community and the victim’s family now have hope thanks to the police command’s prompt action, which demonstrates their dedication to combating crime and maintaining public safety.
