Poll shows how America feels about Trump after his first two days in office

Following his first two days in office, a new poll has shown how Americans feel about President Donald Trump. The findings have both positive and negative implications for the Republican.

According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll taken in the first 24 hours of Trump’s president, 47 percent of respondents approved of his government, which is a higher rating than he received during the majority of his first term.

However, Trump’s approval ratings have dropped in response to his specific policy initiatives over the past day.

According to Reuters, 58% of Americans believed that Trump should not pardon everyone convicted of crimes connected to their role in the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.

However, the president signed pardons for about 1,500 people involved in the riots on Monday, doing almost exactly that.

Only 29% of Americans, meanwhile, are happy with Trump’s handling of the Justice Department’s alleged politicisation.

Although the president has falsely accused Joe Biden and his administration of pursuing politically motivated indictments, Trump has previously stated that he will use his presidential authority to exact “retribution” on his alleged adversaries.

Biden himself has taken these threats seriously, as has everyone else in Washington. In order to avoid political retaliation from Trump, the previous president used his last hours in office to grant preemptive pardons to Dr. Anthony Fauci, General Mark Milley, and members of the House committee that looked into the Capitol riots.

A significantly higher percentage of respondents expressed satisfaction with Trump’s strict immigration policies.

About 46% of those surveyed said they supported Trump’s immigration policies, and 58% agreed that the United States should “dramatically reduce the number of migrants allowed to claim asylum at the border.”

Despite birthright citizenship being guaranteed by the Constitution, Trump issued a number of executive orders on immigration Monday night, including one that terminated it.

In order to “erect physical barriers” and deploy military resources under the Secretary of Defense’s direction, another order proclaimed a national emergency at the U.S.-Mexico border.

The number of soldiers posted to the southern border is unknown.
